This painting by Biren De is a charming and unusual departure from the artist’s well-known visual language. Instead of the geometric forms, radiant chakras, and spiritual symbolism that define his celebrated tantric and abstract work, this piece turns toward an intimate, almost lyrical study of nature.

At the centre sits a deep blue vase rendered with soft, luminous highlights, holding a delicate arrangement of leaves and small blossoms in shades of red, orange, and yellow. The brushwork is gentle and attentive, capturing the fragile textures of petals and foliage with a naturalistic warmth. A small sprig placed beside the vase adds a quiet sense of balance and grounded ness to the composition. The overall palette muted warm paper tones offset by the cool vibrancy of the vase creates a serene visual harmony. This still life is rare within Biren De’s oeuvre, offering a glimpse into a more tender, observational side of the artist, far removed from the metaphysical energy fields for which he is best known.
