The author was a medical officer to the British forces in India. The present work recounts a visit made to Kashmir in the summer of 1875. The routes to Srinagar, a history of the inhabitants, anecdotes, etc. As might be gathered from the title a very positive view, beautiful surroundings and a handsome people, the author considers Kashmiri women to be some of the most beautiful in the world but unfortunately unfamiliar with the concept of bathing.
BINDING: Original red cloth gilt, gilt decoration on front cover, title in gilt on spine.
