A massive volume replete with photographic portraits printed in sepia tone, many full-page. The text also printed in sepia. Includes Indian princely rulers and eminent Hindu, Muslim, Parsi and British men and women of note.

CONDITION: All edges gilt. Full-leather binding with gilt title on cover [partly regilded] and blind-stamped designs. Page 129 repaired with tape at bottom right without loss. Spine top and bottom chipped. Prelims loose.
