This volume is a treasured part of Aslam Mahmud's esteemed personal collection, reflecting his deep passion for literature and rare books.
Aslam Mahmud (1940-2016) was a prominent literary figure and passionate bibliophile from Lucknow. Over his lifetime, he built a personal library of over 15,000 books, focusing on English, Urdu, and Persian literature, Islamic calligraphy, and Awadh history. His collection also included rare stamps, postcards, photos, and film posters, attracting scholars from India and Pakistan.
Educated at St. Francis and La Martiniere Colleges, he earned degrees in science and law from the University of Lucknow. Mahmud served in the Indian Railway Traffic Service, retiring as Additional Member of the Railway Board in 2000.
