The third-last page of the book bears the signature of Chughtai in both English and Urdu. It also states that this is a Special De Luxe Edition, limited to 275 copies, printed on vellum. Each copy is numbered and signed by the artist. According to the number written below the artists signature, this particular copy is No. 97 of 275.

Each painting and photogravure are accompanied by the English translation of the Iqbal quatrain on which it is based, printed on the facing page.

This book was envisioned by Abdur Rehman Chughtai in 1953 as a grand tribute to Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Pakistans national poet and philosopher. Having previously illustrated Iqbals poetry in the 1928 classic Muraqqa-i-Chughtai, Chughtai sought to create an even more ambitious work that would fuse literature, miniature-inspired painting, and calligraphy. This limited-edition volume, eventually published in 1968 after 15 years of effort, features print of Chughtais works painted post-1950 with English translations of Iqbals quatrains opposite each illustration.

Though the project received partial support from the Government of Pakistan, political shifts resulted in only limited funding.

BINDING: Both sides of the leather cover are adorned with exquisite gilded calligraphy, gracefully presenting the title in both English and Urdu as Amal-e-Chughtai, Poet of the East, and Chughtai. The craftsmanship reflects meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of artistic finesse. The spine of the book is further embellished with an elegant motif and calligraphy that translated as Chughtai Art, enhancing the books overall aesthetic appeal and cultural significance.
