Dr. James Atkinson
(1786 - 1852)Early views of Afghanistan by James Atkinson (1786-1852) who served as a senior physician during the British invasion of Afghanistan in 1839 but left Afghanistan soon after the occupation of Kabul by the British and published a travel report and the present views, showing the various stages of the British march from India through the Bolan Pass to Kandahar to Kabul also showing the landscape, architecture and life of Afghanistan.
